Jeremy Clarkson is to be made UK Prime Minister. Well we're not serious but you would think the government were as Downing Street have made a reply to it. Downing Street has been accused of wasting taxpayers' money after making a you tube video in response to a petition for Jeremy Clarkson to be made Prime Minister a few weeks back.



That was the idea put to Clarkson a few weeks back and of course no-one took it seriously including Jeremy Clarkson himself. he said he has little responsibility for the influence he had as a journalist, Clarkson argued that he had no influence and the Top Gear banter was just fluff.

Clarkson dumbed down any involvement in Downing Street when asked at the Hay Festival in Powys about a 1,000-strong Facebook group calling for him to get his job. Clarkson hates health and safety rules and bureaucracy and would strongly move to end such nonsense.

Clarkson also spoke about his abhorrence of bad manners and lateness and joked that if he did become prime minister he would make people arrive on time.


The You tube clip thanks everyone who signed the online petition and says officials have "thought long and hard" about it.

The 55-second clip, on Number 10's You Tube site, was created after nearly 50,000 people backed a call for the Top Gear presenter to be prime minister.
